Komen Race for the Cure

CAWOOD FOR THE CURE

To make a dream a reality, you must act on what you believe can be achieved.

Our dream is that someday we will live in a world without breast cancer. Until that day comes, we believe that a woman's best defense is to get an annual mammogram starting at age 40. Our partnership with Susan G. Komen of Oregon allows us to reach thousands of women with this message and raise money so that those without insurance can receive the services they need.

Last year, the inaugural Eugene Race for the Cure had more than 7,000 participants and was the most successful first-time event in Susan G. Komen history. Komen Oregon also made history as the first statewide affiliate to host two races. We hope people will join us to make this year’s Race on Oct. 23, 2011 an even bigger success.

As the Race’s marketing and communications partner, CAWOOD has donated 1,000 hours of service as Komen Oregon’s creative consultants, developing striking images and concise messaging for Race posters, direct mail and electronic media, as well as concepts and scripts for print, radio and TV advertising. When you see anything about the Race, we probably had a hand in it. We couldn’t be prouder of the results!

Our pro-bono work also included media relations, coordinating events, appearances and interviews with sponsors, Race chairs and Komen Oregon staff. CAWOOD-designed graphics appeared on banners, e-news blasts, websites, pins, shirts, billboards – even a vehicle wrap for a full-sized delivery van! Every member of the CAWOOD team supports Komen Oregon staff in planning and executing a successful event.

The best part has been watching the momentum grow into this amazing community event. Eugene really showed the world how much they care about the cause and its mission to end breast cancer forever.

Together, we can end breast cancer forever.
